Overview:
This restaurant was an assignment I was tasked to create in my Branding class, and my restaurant topic was American Southern cuisine. A topic I was quite concerned about until I thought about my own mother's cuisine. My siblings and I always told her she should open her own restaurant, and this assignment was the perfect opportunity for me to visualize what it could look like. The name Rosie's came from my mother's name, and I chose Texas because that's where my brother currently lives.
Roles: Researcher, Designer, Illustrator
Software: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
The logo on the left was my original signature, but after receiving feedback, I took into consideration the suggestion of making the brand mark appear more interactive with the logotype, as well as, changing the charcoal gray to a red-ish brown to give that appearance of
Above is an image of the research on competitors that I created in Figjam to gain a better understanding of my competition in the Texas BBQ and Soul Food market. I researched from establishments that ranged variously in price range, as well as the dining the dining experience as I had no numerical limit to my restaurant's price range.

Timeline:
This assignment was broken up into 4 parts
Part 1: Research and competitor analysis
Part 2: Challenging ourselves to go out and taste or cook our given cuisine
Part 3: Branding, ie, creating a responsive logo package (and having a primary, secondary signature, as well as having a full color, black, and white version of the logo)
Part 4: Creating Collateral, ie, menu, container, or sauce
Challenges:
Finding good menu mockups and real-life menus that were not in bundles/packs of twenty or more. Printing out and creating/building a side dish container and InDesigning a menu was a bit challenge as I made many inconsistent grammatical errors
For the menu, I wanted to maintain a budget-friendly menu, incorporating illustrations and welcoming pattern that not only children can enjoy but adults as well.
